Community Church Ministries EBOLA Emergency Intervention

Project/Working Team

In the wake of the Ebola outbreak in Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone and Nigeria according to the World Health Organization a UN Body, it has claimed the lives of over 1000 persons, it is now a national emergency situation. This is a disease that kills 90% of its victim! President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has declared a State of Emergency in Liberia due to the Ebola Outbreak! Medicin Sans Frontier a Belgian based medical organization working in West Africa has described it as catastrophe in Liberia! In so doing, the Community Church Ministries, Inc. (CCM) a nonprofit based organization situated in Soul Clinic, Paynesville has decided to add her voice to the many voices that has spoken on the danger of the deadly Ebola virus. Therefore, the leadership of the organization through its Servant Leader Jasper Z. Williams had several meetings with our Lead Team having carefully observed the ongoing Ebola crisis and is now ready to take actions initially on a community level within our church related communities in order to determine compliance before intensifying her effort to other parts of Liberia that are affected yet by providing basic public awareness about the danger of the disease/virus, the mode of transmission, preventive measures, and some description of the virus in terms progression.

In keeping with the World Health Organization (WHO) standard of practice that is internationally acceptable, hands washing is one of the simplest methods of disease prevention progressive health promotional activity. Against this background CCM has come to buttress the effort of national government and its international partners for prompt intervention geared toward the curtailing of the rapid spread of the virus throughout the country.

In view of the foregoing, the organization role in the Ebola crisis is pure advocacy through community sensitization and provided preventive materials such as: chlorine, chloride, tar-soap, buckets, and 5-gallon containers with faucets, hands sprayers, hand sanitizers, banners, fliers, and educational material outlining the basic methods of prevention.

In our own view as leadership and recessive members of a given community, we are very much concern about the well being and safety of our people of this nation and will not sit calmly to see things happening the way the country is going in this kind of emergency situation!

In conclusion, a team of thirty medical practitioners have been identified, to be trained by two Preventive Health facilitators from the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare Government of Liberia to carry out the exercise which will be headed by Jasper and coordinated by Richard Vah – Missions Director along with our medical practitioners. These health workers will work along with CCM Lead Team to construct two teams who will be trained to create the Ebola Awareness Campaign among CCM churches members and communities within Monrovia and the different communities where our local churches are:
